Part 1: The Constitution's Origins

2) Complete your notes on pp. 46-49 in your Interactive Notebook.

Part 2:  The Executive Branch and  
the Legislative Branch

Part3: The Judicial Branch and
Checks and Balances

Part 4: Performance Assessment

1) Create a mind map of each of the branches of government. Think about their responsibilities. You may work alone, or with a partner.

2) Use "Inspiration" to finish your rough draft and then begin to connect the branches showing the checks and balances that are at play in our government.  You will work with a partner.

Part 5: Performance Assessment

1) Once your mind map is completed using "Inspiration", have me check it.

 2) You will create a Power Point Presentation within a group that summarizes the founding of the US Constitution and its key components. You will use a metaphor/simile as the backbone of the presentation.

 3) You and your Inspiration partner will partner up with another pair of students. Each of you will have a different role in creating your presentation.  Begin your power point presentation. Make sure to use the Electronic Media Rubric to guide you.

 
4 Roles for Power Point Presentation

 *1) Presenter- Your job is to present the Power Point to the class on your presentation day. While the presentation is being created, you will help the writer write the presentation so you are familiar with the text and the footnotes in the Power Point

 

*2) Writer- Your job will be to write the text that will appear within the Power Point. You will also write the Presenter’s presentation. Have the Presenter help you write the text so that they are comfortable and familiar with the text and the footnotes in the Power Point.

 

*3) Graphic Designer- Your job is to create the graphic elements of the Power Point. You will choose the colors and pictures and fonts that will help spice up your presentation. You will work with the typist by checking spelling within the presentation.

 

*4) Typist- Your job is to type the text within the presentation. You will work with the Graphic Designer and help create the visuals for the presentation.

 

As a group, you must decide on a metaphor or simile that you will use throughout the presentation. This metaphor should be tied throughout both the visual and oral aspect of the presentation.

 From time to time, you will be conferencing with the teacher to check up on progress.

Part 6: Performance Assessment Continues

1) Present the Power Point to the rest of the class. Make sure that you have utilized the Electronic Media Rubric in revising your work.
